mk3 1.6(The dreaded from experience)

Postby Low And Wide » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:06 am

Ok so my m8 has one of these and its actually a really nice example(Y), but hes had no end of problems since he got it but one probem tht has persisted is the fact that when hes been driving it for about 10 or 15 mins, and hes ideling the oil level light seems to come on
Now from what research ive done i found sum1 who was having a similar problem and it turned out tht it was the oil pressure swwitch which i was thinking about.

But before i jump the gun and do it for him i was just wondering if any1 has had similar problems and if so was this the remedy.

He definately has the right level of oil and isnt losing any he has changed the oil recently cos he thought it had the wrong type in and this didnt solve the problem.

basically any help would be much appreciated as its his new car (first VW and its not setting a good exampple of the amazing german engineering that were all fond of:)

p.s cheers in advance

Yeh its pretty common for the presure switches to fuck up on em mate. Im guessing it the flashing red light and maybe the buzzer he's getting yeah? Really easy to swap, just make sure they supply you with the right colour.
