Wheel & Tyre lingo.

Right, basiclly, complete dribblers question.
Used to understand all the numbers and shit concerning wheel & tyre sizes but have completely forgotten over not having my own car for half a year.
Would somebody be so kind to simply explain :)

pour examplé, the wheels drew is selling ;

17x8 ET60 5x112

17 = Rim Diameter
8 = Rim width
ET = Offset
5 = stud pattern
112= MM between each stud :)

VW standard offset is 38.

anything 37 to 0 will stick out more, 39 - 60 will sit in further. addind spacers/adapters changes the offset. so et40 wheels with 20mm spacers become et20. et5 wheels with 20mm spacers become et-15

Try and stay above et20 mate, any lower and your gona be poking too much. If you need any help give us a shout and i'll try and guide ya. Just remember, as you add spacers/adpators the offset gets less as Alex has explained.

High et = tuck

Low et = poke

Old rims? No Mate my new rims are et-10 lol my old wheels (teledials) were et52 I beleive with 25mm adaptors which are now in posession of steve (33hz)
