Delayed Boost :o(

Postby chegers » Thu Nov 05, 2009 6:30 pm

Evening All,

Long time no see. I have not been in town all that often lately but shall be here a bit more often from now on. Basically my MK4 1.8T has started to do strange things. I first noticed this when on the motorway when I went to overtake some prat in a BMW I hit the gas indicated to change lanes and expected a torrent of spooling turbo sounds to be raidaited from under my bonet but no there was no such luck this time! After pumping the pedal a few times and being in 3.5k revs the turbo finally started to bosot and off I went. It almost feels like the wastegate is getting stuck. This has happened a few times now and is getting annoying there are no lights on the dash that indicate a fault. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Cheers all.
