Hesitation.. ?

Postby Samantha* » Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:09 pm

And i know what you are all thinking first = stupid women drivers!!!

When i lift the clutch to pull away and press on the throttle, it hesitates, almost stops the car (even when the accelerators down) and then pulls away really fast.

Its becoming annoying and dangerous, cos obv when i pull out on roundabout or junction, the car pulls out but stops slightly but not asif its cutting out/stalling.
I'm worried that sumone is gunna hit me.. i dont pull out on ppl (all the time  )

I've recently serviced it thinking that it could be the problem had an oil change, oil filter change, sprak plugs, fuel filter, air filter, liquid top ups etc.
 Someone mensioned about cleaning the throttle position sensors - how do i do this?
Also i have a slight (jap car, tractor sounding) blow in my exhaust and that probably doesnt help

is there anything else it could be :?:

Then check timing is setup correctly, i know my polo was a sucker for havin' timing setup right, slightly bit out and it would run like a dog.

Strobe light test. Ask someone who knows what they are doing as its a pain in the ass!

Throttle body, check sparks and HT leads. Thats where i'd start before checking timing though.
