more parts have been sourced in the form of:
Cable shifter and suited tower
Engine loom and jabbasport chipped ECU (unsure if i'm going to be using this ECU as i have a standard aswell)
Clutch cable to hydro converter

still on the hunt for some 100mm driveshafts but happy with that list so far

Here's a recent one from the bodyshop

working on the engine.
still needs a few more coats and a rub but it's getting there

Bit of an update

Got some bits back from the coaters
Image

Very impressed with the finish
Image

And the wishbones freshly coated and polybushed
Image

Started putting the braking system back together but run into some issues so called it a night before getting really stroppy with it

progress since getting a package from VW

Image

and some more bits going back together. Just need to order the correct bolts
Image

need to fit the fuel rail but wanted to see the inlet manifold in place
Really happy with the color choice now

and a little bit more completed

brake bar now powder coated and rebuilt
Image

need to make another trip to VW for some nuts and bolts to finish putting the engine back together but it's slowly getting there
no change with the bodywork yet but nearly have everything to drop the the engine in for when it's done

thanks buddy

plans have changed for this.
The G60 has been swapped for an AGU so that's going in instead.

Spent the afternoon with it today stripping out most of the engine bay. I just need to get the block, gearbox and anything else left behind out

I did take some pics but they were shocking so gonna get some proper ones the next time i'm there

ooooh and was told he'd like to have it welded, painted and with the engine in by Feb so pretty stoked

Had a spare few hours over the last couple of days so thought i'd do this:

This was a couple of hours on wednesday

Image

and a couple more hours today

Image

and finally out:

Image

you're probably wondering why it took so long and why i didn't use a crane.
well firstly i was doing this on my own and secondly, this was the amount of space i had to work with:

Image

Had to be real careful not to hit any of the other cars or welding equipment around me
planning on getting the majority of the bay cleared and the brakes removed to start refurbing the steering rack etc

Also picked up some new brakes for the upped power:
Image

vauxhall (excuse my language) v6 callipers with G60 280mm discs and some nice shiny new brake lines
Was pretty stoked when they lined up to the mk1 hubs without the need for adaptors
just need a clean along with the hubs

Recently i was offered an A3 1.8t with light front damage and as it came with some pretty tasty coillies, audi RS4 18" alloys with pretty much brand new tyres, Forge dump valve and Forge shallow armoured sump it got my attention.
Plus as my mk4 owning friend wanted the coillies and uprated anti roll bars he was willing to go halves.

so far have this and replaced with my standard part

Image

and just need to get my sump off and get hold of the armoured one.

The rest of the A3 is being put back together to replace my other friends mk4 with a blown engine which is a bit of shame because driving it back was pretty exciting.
Definitely stoked on putting the 1.8t in something lighter
