This thread has serious comedy factor.

My suggestion would have been axle stands, positioned in the right place they should be fine as long as they aren't cheap small pressure point aldi crap.
Roll a nice size jack underneath the subframe, in the middle and raise til its almost taking the weight.
Undo all bolts so its now balanced on the jack and lower down.

In true haynes manual style refitting is the opposite of removal.

Good work tho mikey, admire the commitment with this.

I guess suspension wise will be non VR mk3 stuff although I think mk2 an 3 is interchangable. Awesome gti have KW v1s on sale at the mo! As are weitecs at DPM performance...

You might wanna budget for polybushes and an uprated front ARB as the cage will show up this stuff by stiffening everything else!

Fast progress tho mikey!

What gearbox you using?

What stuey said is hows it hapened, fitting is easy, jack it up and it pushs itself into place.

Subframe is already polybushed.

Gearbox will be a G60 with 1st and 2nd from a vr probably.

So stuck some of it on

Fully sick. All the bottles and piping, if it can be removed / painted, it's going anthracite.
