Looking good dude, loving the progress and the new wheels.

The metal sections with wires you found look like VAG resistors packs for the headlights, not entirely sure what they do but i know on my rado if you unplug them the side light / headlights become less yellow so i guess the limit voltage or something. I don't think you really need them so i wouldn't worry.

Next task is to get the engine sorted as shes a bit rough at the moment, need to know if the ez2 engine can be played with through VAGcom for the timing belt?
